The vision of the MPH program of IUB Department of Public Health is to create next generation leaders in public health research and practice with local relevance and global significance.

Mission

The mission of our department is to achieve the goals of higher education in Public Health fields and of sustainable development in health, wellbeing and economic fields in the country through a two-way relationship between community and university.
The mission is achieved through:

  1. providing high quality pragmatic education on public health sciences and practice;
  2. conducting cutting-edge research to generate evidence and influence policies; and
  3. collaborating nationally and internationally with leading educational, research and implementing institutes

Department of Public Health

Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB) is successively conducting Master of Public Health (MPH) since 2005. It is one of the pioneers in higher education in Public Health in the private sector in Bangladesh. Department of Public Health has contributed to preparing a successful group of alumni who can be found working throughout the world, both in the public and private sectors. In the purpose of running a very rigorous program, IUB, MPH has always been selective in student numbers to provide attention to individual students. Department of Public Health develops diverse leaders equipped to help solve the health challenges of the 21st century and beyond.

Department Public Health has been growing, innovating, discovering, and launching the careers of some of the most accomplished and influential men and women in the field of public health. Today we stand among a select group of public health graduate schools.

Faculty members are actively engaged in groundbreaking research that informs not only our curriculum and scientific understanding but also public policy. Currently, faculty members are engaged in numerous international collaborations with some of the world’s leading research organizations and universities. From large, epidemiologic studies to bench science, our research and scholarship continue to improve the overall practice of public health.

Working together, our faculty, staff and students are dedicated to preventing disease, encouraging better health and promoting the common good.
